The Myers Motors NmG
personal electric vehicle drives in a class
by itself, America’s only highway-legal
electric in production today. The NmG will
zip you along at 75 mph so you flow with
the traffic instead of bogging it down. This
nimble ride performs beautifully with instant
torque that gets you started fast. It makes
instant acceleration a breeze when entering
high-speed traffic or the passing lane.
The NmG offers drivers several other time
saving benefits as well:
Carpool lanes
Carpool or high occupancy vehicle (HOV)
lanes encourage people to reduce highway
congestion and vehicle emissions by carpooling.
Since only 11% of commuters carpool, traffic
in the HOV should move faster than surrounding
lanes. Designers expected this perk would
encourage the 91 million other commuters
to start ridesharing as well, but the number
of carpools still remains low.
However, the single-occupant NmG dashing along
in the carpool or high occupancy vehicle (HOV)
lave is considered fully occupied with just
the driver. Some drivers shave nearly an hour
each day off their commute time and additional
seats would take away the HOV lane privilege.
If widely adopted, the smaller vehicle size
could help reduce traffic congestion as well.
Jurisdictions that allow lane splitting for
motorcycles could handle nearly double the
amount of today’s traffic, if personal
electric vehicles became the norm. Just imagine
traffic flowing smoothly on an expressway full
of compact and nimble NmGs.
