Technical Specifications
The batteries are Optima Spiracell, valve regulated lead acid (VRLA). They are absorbed glass mat (AGM) type, not a gel type. This type and brand of battery was carefully chosen to provide maximum power, low self discharge and fast and efficient recharge. It is completely sealed and requires no maintenance.
Each NmG battery is rated 55 amp hours at C20 (constant amp discharge over a 20-hour period) and 40 amp hours at C1 (constant amp discharge over a one-hour period).

Therefore, 45 amp hours multiplied by 156 volts (thirteen 12-volt batteries) equals 6,240 watt hours or 6.24 kilowatt hours (1,000 watts per kilowatt). In order to recharge your batteries when they are fully discharged, it will take 7 kilowatt hours. This is approximately 10 percent to 15 percent more than you expended because of the variable energy loss of the battery charger, battery chemistry, battery pack balance, the controller, ambient temperature, electrical outlet, charging cord, etc.

Check your electrical bill to determine your cost per kilowatt hour. Then you can calculate the cost for a full recharge

Battery Pack Replacement
When one battery in the pack has lost its charge, all batteries in the battery pack must be replaced. Do not replace the battery pack yourself. Bring your NmG to an authorized NmG dealer for battery pack replacement.
Alert
Touching your batteries could result in serious injury from electrical shock. Only a trained technician should perform maintenance on or troubleshoot your battery pack.
